Teachers’ Housing Development Associations and Contractors Sign Construction Agreement to Accelerate the Construction of Teachers’ Houses.

It is known that teachers have organized themselves into a housing development association and entered into the construction of houses in line with the recent efforts of the city administration to make teachers homeowners.

The housing associations and contractors have also signed a construction agreement document to accelerate the construction of teachers’ housing associations.

The city administration has entered into this housing development project with special attention, said the Head of the Addis Ababa Housing Development and Administration Bureau, Honorable W. Giorgis, who was present at the signing ceremony. He said that the task is a great national responsibility and that it should be completed quickly and with a changed work culture. He added that we should be happy to be a part of this work and to be able to leave our mark.

Representing the consultant organization, Addis Ababa Science and Technology University, the Vice President of the University, Temesgen Wondimu/Dr., said that the construction of the teachers’ house is very symbolic and continuous compared to the large-scale constructions being built so far, and we should all be proud of building the teachers’ house.

Most of the 67 teachers’ house construction associations that were organized have started work, and the design work of the houses has been completed by the consultant, Addis Ababa Science and Technology University, and handed over to the Housing Development and Administration Bureau.

The bureau supervises, monitors and supports the works and has been directed to complete them within the stipulated time frame.

The forum was attended by senior leaders including the head of the office, the Vice President of Addis Ababa Science and Technology University, the Chairman of the Teachers’ Association, representatives of the associations and construction contractors.
